Selecting The Perfect Wedding Gown

Weddingstar Single Layer Veil in Soft Tulle with Beaded Edging - Ivory

It’s a bride’s dream to walk into a bridal store, select a gown and make the purchase. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work this way. Generally, the bride needs several alterations for the gown to fit her properly. Here is a great guide for finding the perfect wedding gown:

1. Prepare ahead. 6 months is the “norm” for finding the perfect wedding gown and having it altered. Three things should be considered: First, the time you can try your bridal gown; Second: Allow yourself enough time to alter your dress to fit you perfectly; Third: check your wedding dress carefully before your wedding ceremony.

2. D. o a little research. Search the Internet, magazines and catalogs to find a dress that you think you like. This way it will help you find the right dress in the store with the help of an assistant. Take notes and samples with you when shopping as you can use the help to locate your dream dress.

3. Take your body size, face shape and hair into consideration. Wedding apparel with different collar, cuffs and waist are designed for different body shapes. You should find a dress that flatters your body shape!

4. Think outside of the box. See a dress that is “unique”? Try it on – in fact – try them ALL on! You might find a dress looks perfect on you, even if it’s not so flattering on the hanger. Within a budget you can also find a similar one to your favorite style bridal dress. Or you can spend less money to get a tailor to make a copy bridal dress for you.

5. Bring a partner. A girlfriend or family member will give honest opinions and help you narrow down your selection. You want somebody that isn’t afraid to tell you the truth!

6. Remember – you will want to be fashionable AND comfortable! Don’t sacrifice comfort for style. Make sure that the material on the dress is not itchy or uncomfortable.

7. Bring your cameras and take a photo for each bridal gown you try on. In the final days of decision-making time, look at the pictures and choose one.

8. Stay within your budget. Take the additional costs such as alterations, jewelry and other accessories into consideration.

Generally, your honeymoon should be that once in a lifetime romantic getaway you’ve always hoped it would be. This is why planning your honeymoon months before your trip is essential, so you and your partner don’t get frustrated with some last-minute, unexpected and unpleasant surprises.

Below are some critical honeymoon tips that will ensure that your planning goes smoothly:

1.Sit down with your honey and brainstorm options. This should be the easy part – selecting a location or two. This is the foundation for your actual honeymoon. This procedure should be done months in advance to help prepare for all of the minor details. Planning for your romantic vacation can be so much simpler if you create a list of your preferences, needs and specifications in order of budget, location, accommodation, amenities and activities. Make a list of your own preferences and compare notes later on.

2.If you really want a stress-free honeymoon planning, talk about hiring the services of a honeymoon expert. For just one flat rate, this professional can compile a list of places and agendas for you and your spouse while coordinating the entire thing. All you have to do is listen and agree!

3.If budget is a major concern, you can start a honeymoon savings plan. In lieu of the traditional gift registry, there are lots of agencies online that offer honeymoon registries. This way you can ask for the help of your wedding guests to contribute to your honeymoon.

Don’t stress over planning your honeymoon – especially because it is supposed to be the calm after the storm!

Weddingstar Red Rose Ceremony Set

The 2012 popular ceremony, aside from the sand ceremony, is the red rose ceremony.

In the Red Rose Ceremony, the Bride and Groom give each exchange a beautiful red rose.  Typically, only two roses are necessary to signify the joining of two people. Children can be included if you have blended families or want them to feel included as well. If that is the case, this ceremony can hold as little as two roses or up to as many as you please! Typically the Red Rose Ceremony is performed near the end of the ceremony just “after” being pronounced husband and wife.

Flowers signify love and romance to adding them into your ceremony is the perfect way to say “I Love You”. The Rose ceremony gives recognition to the new and most honorable title of “Wife and Husband”.

If you want to make this a special ceremony, York & White suggests the Red Rose Ceremony Vase Set by Weddingstar. This set can be personalized and kept as a memorable keepsake for years to come.

The Typical Wedding Gift Registry

There are various types of registries. Baby registries. House warming registries. Luckily, wedding registries are basically the same. Whether you’re buying a new house together for the first time or just updating your current stash, this registry includes all the conventional — and still very popular — household necessities.

1. Kitchen appliances: These items, by a landslide, are the most popular.  This list includes items such as gourmet coffee makers, crock pots, deep fryers, grills, etc.

2. Kitchen Accessories: A bit smaller, this list includes little knick-knacks you would likely never go out and buy for yourself but that you’d still love to have.

3. Luggage: A necessity for any couple and the perfect gift for the honeymoon, obviously.

4. Dinnerware:  Plates, bowls, spoons, fine china and more. Every couple deserves to have matching place settings for their guests, right?

5. Cookware/Bakeware:  I recommend collections from the Food Network, but that’s just my opinion. The bride will definitely put these items to use!

6. Towel Sets:  This one is not common, but it’s a necessity! Matching towels for the bathroom and kitchen are highly recommended. Find unique but popular patterns.

7. Bedding:  This is also uncommon but something that is extremely trendy. Especially if the bride likes to swap out her bedding every now and then!

Timeless Traditions: Love Letter Ceremony

Weddingstar Love Letter Ceremony Box Set

While the unity sand ceremony is a popular choice, the love letter ceremony is quickly rising to the top of the charts.  It is a special moment when the bride and groom ceremoniously exchange love letters, locking them into a box and sealing it with a kiss and a toast.  While you likely have some ideas floating around about the best wedding accessories to remember this special time, consider capturing the romance with a Love Letter Ceremony. This is a great alternative to the traditional unity candle ceremony, and provides a unique way to remember your wedding day long after the honeymoon.

Most Love Letter Ceremony Sets include a beautiful pair of wine goblets, exclusive wedding stationery for the bride and groom, and a place to lay a special bottle of wine to share later in your marriage. Before the wedding day, the bride and groom each write a love letter expressing their deepest feelings towards each other. They may explain exactly what it is about the other person that they love so much, their goals for their future, and even some special memories they shared together.

The bride and groom will then close the box and lock it with a key. The newlyweds will have this box and its contents as a special memory of their commitment to each other. When the time comes, whether in the midst of hardship or while celebrating their 5 year Anniversary, the couple can reopen the case and relive that special moment when they said, “I do.” The letters will finally be shared along with a special wedding day bottle of wine.

History of the Groom’s Cake

Weddingstar

Dating back to the 19th century, the tradition of the Grooms Cake is definitely making its come-back. Legend has it that the single women at the wedding would take a slice of the groom cake home and put it under their pillows. That night they would dream about their future husbands.

These days, the Grooms cake is made of chocolate or red velvet cake and is offered as an alternative to the traditional vanilla cake. Meant to be a gift from the bride to the groom (often a surprise), the cake can come in any flavor, shape or theme.

If served at the reception, this cake can be set next to the traditional wedding cake or wheeled out to surprise the groom. If large enough, it can be cut and boxed for guests to take home.  Regardless of how you serve it, make sure that you select a cake that reflects the grooms personality and style! It’s sure to be a night that he won’t forget!
