Lillian Rose Signing Stones with Vase

Lillian Rose Signing Stones W/Vase

We have all heard of the sand ceremony vase and the red rose vase. Lillian Rose has taken the commemorative vase ceremony to the next level with the stone signing vase. This decorative vase comes with small smooth stones which are perfect for signing.

Each guest is given a stone (or as many as they’d like) and can sign with a drawing, name or sweet message. The stones are then placed into the vase and can be used as a keepsake for the bride and groom.

An instruction card is included. Signing stones are a unique alternative to the traditional guest book. Display stones and instruction card by the vase. Guests may pick a stone and write their names or a small message onto the stone and place it into the vase.

Fun Wedding Myths

Cathy's Concepts 'I Promise To' Mosaic Unity Ceremony Masterpiece

Many brides fear the myths that are constantly being brought to their attention. While many of these myths are fun, others are brutal and are feared by brides. Here are some of the common myths and superstitions that surround the wedding day:

1. Rain. It has been said that if it rains on your wedding day, many tears will be shed during the marriage. On the other hand, many other customs show that rain is a sign of good luck and will bring blessings to the marriage. A rainy wedding day also foretells of many children to be born to the wedding couple.

2. Shoes.Decades ago, the father would pass one shoe of the bride’s to the groom to signify him giving his daughter away in marriage. It is also considered good luck for the groom’s mother to throw a shoe at the bride as the couple leaves their reception so that the bride and her mother-in-law would forever be the best of friends. In addition to these, the bride should wear penny in her shoe while being married for good luck and wealth.

3. Wedding Gown.Years ago, it was considered good luck to have a piece of the wedding gown, so then the dress was literally ripped to pieces with the bride still in it. It is considered unlucky for a groom to see his bride in her wedding dress as well as for her to try on the wedding dress more than one time after alterations. Many brides don’t know that it’s considered good luck for her to enter the venue on her right foot.

4. Wedding Ring. The wedding ring is believed to be sacred and should not be given to others to try on, this is sure to bring bad luck and even the possibility of unfaithfulness. If ever the wedding rings are removed by a bride it must be the groom who returns them to her fingers to continue the good luck.

Spring Wedding Planning: Cocktail Time

Kate Aspen

Many brides and grooms create their own cocktail menu to really make their wedding reception their own. Narrowing down the drink list is not only cost effective but often times, if the drinks are themed, really make cocktail hour more enjoyable for your guests!

Spring

Spring is a refreshing season which features cool, crisp weather, budding flowers and bright, beautiful colors. Spring may just be the most refreshing of the four seasons.

The perfect spring time cocktail? Mojitos! These are the number one choice for springtime cocktails. They are refreshing, light and pretty to look at. Mojitos are also versatile and can be modified with shots of juice to change the color as well.  Garnigh with a slice of lemon and some minty leaves to really create a beautiful masterpiece!

Summer

Even adults love the summertime. Added sunshine, warm weather and outdoor barbeques. This is the time when many brides and grooms opt for beach or park weddings.

If you’re planning an outdoor summer bash, you better make some tasty cocktails to quench the thirst of your guests!

Transform cocktail hour into a fruity affair with fun and colorful cocktails inspired by the season of heat! Cool off guests with Frozen Daiquiris! Offer the classic strawberry or lime, or jazz it up with more exotic flavors like mango, peach or pineapple!

As with any wedding cocktail, serve each frozen cocktail in a signature glass. Better yet – serve them in personalized glasses to give to your guests as favors!

Fall

Fall is a beautiful time of the year. The leaves are changing, the weather is cooling down. Cinnamon is my choice for fall, and it really works with the season’s warm, rusty color scheme. Think pumpkins, apples and really warm flavors. Maybe a spiced apple cider with a kick!

Winter

Winter is the perfect time to snuggle up with your honey and say your vows. Keep in mind that most locations get extremely chilly so focus on keeping your guests warm and toasty! Try a stiff minty Martini or tasty spiked Hot Cocoa.

Remember to transform your cocktail hour into a thing of beauty with colored/personalized napkins and pretty cocktail glasses!

A Guide for Wedding Planning

Kate Aspen Miniature Silver Chair Favor Box with Heart Charm & Ribbon

A wedding is often called a Special Day, with that capitalization very much intentional. Few people experience any occasion more memorable and more important to them. Among important life experiences, weddings are unique because they are typically planned well in advance. This article will give you the ideas you need to plan the perfect wedding and make it a truly memorable occasion.

If you will be having an outdoor wedding, consider the costs involved. To save money on your wedding, keep in mind that outdoor weddings may require permits, have party size restrictions, and if you will be allowed to have music. Also, weather conditions could add extra costs to your outdoor wedding plans.

When working the room at your wedding reception, you should stick to your new spouse. The two of you together should be mingling with all your guests, showing the unity that will keep you going through your long relationship together. Introduce your partner to anyone he doesn’t know, and he should return the favor.

When purchasing your wedding cake, think about the options that could save you money. If you want a fancy wedding cake, purchase a small one for just the wedding party and buy a large sheet cake for the rest of the guests. Your guests will still enjoy it just as much as your smaller wedding cake.

To trim your wedding costs in the planning stages, consider inviting fewer people, if at all possible. The number of guests often has the most impact on how much a wedding costs; therefore, you can save a lot of money by inviting only the people with whom you and your future spouse really want to share the day.

Making use of tips like these can help turn any wedding into an experience to remember. Not every marriage will last forever, but the memories from a wedding are permanent. By taking heed of helpful advice, a good wedding planner can ensure that those memories are as pleasant and unique as possible.

This article has a lot of great information on planning a wedding, and making it the day you’ve always dreamed of. Sometimes it’s the little things that you never thought of, that make all the difference.

One of the ways that you can make your wedding as convenient as possible is to have your ceremony and reception at the same location. This will allow you to save a lot of money on transportation and miscellaneous costs, which will appeal to your guests and your bank account.

If you’ve asked a family member or friend to photograph your wedding, make sure that person really wants to do it. Don’t pressure anyone because he or she may end up so stressed out that the photographs they take don’t turn out as expected. If the photo are ruined in any way, don’t take it out on the person you asked! They did the best they could.

While it’s important to provide your wedding DJ with a list of songs you love and wish to be played at your reception, it’s equally as important to let him know what you DON’T like. Maybe it’s country music, or heavy metal, or even your “special song” from an old lover. Whatever it is let him know so you don’t end up cringing at your own wedding!

When choosing a caterer or a vendor for your wedding, look for someone you can trust. If the vendor is doing its best to work with you and find out what you want, you have found the right one. If the vendor’s main concern is getting paid, you might have run into a scam.

Having the perfect wedding, doesn’t have to break the bank, or drive you crazy in the process of planning it. This article has some information that can help you to make that happen. Follow the ideas you read here and you will be amazed at how well things start to come together.

Adding a Splash of Color to your Wedding Gown

Gone are the days when brides opt for a white wedding gown. More and more brides are adding a splash of color to their dresses to express their unique personalities and to keep the wedding look modern.

Color can be added to a wedding dress through various methods:  with embroidery, a band at the top of the neckline or bottom of the hem, within an open train, or a sash around the waist. Modern brides are incorporating their favorite colors be it purple, green, or black or just adding color to match with their bridal party. You may opt for a wedding gown that isn’t white at all. It may be shocking to your guests, but it will also be memorable.

Perhaps you have a vintage gown that has been in your family for years. If the dress has some stains, but the fabric is in decent condition,  speak with a professional and find out if the dress will withstand being dyed a slightly darker color. It is a great way to preserve a piece of your family history as well as save your budget from an expensive new gown.

You don’t have pick a bold, vibrant down. Some brides opt for a colored dress for practical reasons. It could be that pure white doesn’t flatter your skin tone or it won’t go well with the color scheme that you have selected.

Selecting The Perfect Wedding Gown

Weddingstar Single Layer Veil in Soft Tulle with Beaded Edging - Ivory

It’s a bride’s dream to walk into a bridal store, select a gown and make the purchase. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work this way. Generally, the bride needs several alterations for the gown to fit her properly. Here is a great guide for finding the perfect wedding gown:

1. Prepare ahead. 6 months is the “norm” for finding the perfect wedding gown and having it altered. Three things should be considered: First, the time you can try your bridal gown; Second: Allow yourself enough time to alter your dress to fit you perfectly; Third: check your wedding dress carefully before your wedding ceremony.

2. D. o a little research. Search the Internet, magazines and catalogs to find a dress that you think you like. This way it will help you find the right dress in the store with the help of an assistant. Take notes and samples with you when shopping as you can use the help to locate your dream dress.

3. Take your body size, face shape and hair into consideration. Wedding apparel with different collar, cuffs and waist are designed for different body shapes. You should find a dress that flatters your body shape!

4. Think outside of the box. See a dress that is “unique”? Try it on – in fact – try them ALL on! You might find a dress looks perfect on you, even if it’s not so flattering on the hanger. Within a budget you can also find a similar one to your favorite style bridal dress. Or you can spend less money to get a tailor to make a copy bridal dress for you.

5. Bring a partner. A girlfriend or family member will give honest opinions and help you narrow down your selection. You want somebody that isn’t afraid to tell you the truth!

6. Remember – you will want to be fashionable AND comfortable! Don’t sacrifice comfort for style. Make sure that the material on the dress is not itchy or uncomfortable.

7. Bring your cameras and take a photo for each bridal gown you try on. In the final days of decision-making time, look at the pictures and choose one.

8. Stay within your budget. Take the additional costs such as alterations, jewelry and other accessories into consideration.

Cathy's Concepts Aqua Terry Cloth Bath Wrap

Planning the wedding may seem like one huge task, but try adding on an honeymoon as well. Honeymoon planning can be just as stressful as planning for the big day! Should planning for your honeymoon become so complicated that it causes too much stress? Not necessarily. Not with effective stress-free honeymoon planning tips.

Generally, your honeymoon should be that once in a lifetime romantic getaway you’ve always hoped it would be. This is why planning your honeymoon months before your trip is essential, so you and your partner don’t get frustrated with some last-minute, unexpected and unpleasant surprises.

Below are some critical honeymoon tips that will ensure that your planning goes smoothly:

1.Sit down with your honey and brainstorm options. This should be the easy part – selecting a location or two. This is the foundation for your actual honeymoon. This procedure should be done months in advance to help prepare for all of the minor details. Planning for your romantic vacation can be so much simpler if you create a list of your preferences, needs and specifications in order of budget, location, accommodation, amenities and activities. Make a list of your own preferences and compare notes later on.

2.If you really want a stress-free honeymoon planning, talk about hiring the services of a honeymoon expert. For just one flat rate, this professional can compile a list of places and agendas for you and your spouse while coordinating the entire thing. All you have to do is listen and agree!

3.If budget is a major concern, you can start a honeymoon savings plan. In lieu of the traditional gift registry, there are lots of agencies online that offer honeymoon registries. This way you can ask for the help of your wedding guests to contribute to your honeymoon.

Don’t stress over planning your honeymoon – especially because it is supposed to be the calm after the storm!
