2. Pop the Question Unexpectedly

These days, many couples discuss marriage before-hand which leaves many women in on the secret. Try to make it a spontaneous event. Pop the question when she least expects it, like on a walk, in the grocery store: somewhere that will catch her off guard and surprise her.

3. Involve family members.

Let all of your family in on it. Many brides find it amazing that everybody knew except them. Get down on one knee at a family barbeque or party. It’s fun to share the moment with people that you love.

4. Add a Touch of Personalization

If you have a special date coming up, an anniversary for example, pop the question then. Many women know that they’re in for a special evening on their anniversary, but they don’t expect a proposal!

5. Keep it simple.

The bigger the proposal, the greater the chance something can go wrong. A simple, romantic gesture is all that most women look forward to.

6. Utilize the outdoors.

Fresh air, beautiful trees, the sun (or moon) above you – that’s a beautiful way to start your engagement. If you’re a couple that loves the great outdoors, be sure to pop the question outside!

One of the biggest concerns that brides have when planning their wedding is in regards to the venue. This is especially true if they are budgeting their wedding. Don’t worry! This is a helpful guide to helping you select a venue that best suits you and your wedding budget!

1. Season: Consider the time of year that you’re getting married, as some venues will look better in summer or winter. Many venues also have different pricing based on season so be sure to ask which season is most cost efficient.

2.Wedding Planning: Did you want to plan your entire wedding from start to finish or did you want to rely upon your venue’s wedding planner. When touring your venue, be sure that your location offers wedding planning services if desired.

3. Date: Be sure that you location is available for the date that you want and reserve it well ahead of time. This ensures that your guests are all scheduled to go and you can print your invitations!

4. Size Matters: Be sure that your desired venue can accommodate your guest list. On the same token, you don’t want a huge venue for a small, intimate gathering.

5. Photography: Does the venue have nice settings for photo-ops?  Select a venue with nice scenery and perhaps natural features or impressive buildings.

6. Budgeting: Ask for all prices up front – your wedding will require a lot of planning and budgeting so be sure to factor in every cost.

Many brides fear the myths that are constantly being brought to their attention. While many of these myths are fun, others are brutal and are feared by brides. Here are some of the common myths and superstitions that surround the wedding day:

1. Rain. It has been said that if it rains on your wedding day, many tears will be shed during the marriage. On the other hand, many other customs show that rain is a sign of good luck and will bring blessings to the marriage. A rainy wedding day also foretells of many children to be born to the wedding couple.

2. Shoes.Decades ago, the father would pass one shoe of the bride’s to the groom to signify him giving his daughter away in marriage. It is also considered good luck for the groom’s mother to throw a shoe at the bride as the couple leaves their reception so that the bride and her mother-in-law would forever be the best of friends. In addition to these, the bride should wear penny in her shoe while being married for good luck and wealth.

3. Wedding Gown.Years ago, it was considered good luck to have a piece of the wedding gown, so then the dress was literally ripped to pieces with the bride still in it. It is considered unlucky for a groom to see his bride in her wedding dress as well as for her to try on the wedding dress more than one time after alterations. Many brides don’t know that it’s considered good luck for her to enter the venue on her right foot.

4. Wedding Ring.The wedding ring is believed to be sacred and should not be given to others to try on, this is sure to bring bad luck and even the possibility of unfaithfulness. If ever the wedding rings are removed by a bride it must be the groom who returns them to her fingers to continue the good luck.

Many brides and grooms create their own cocktail menu to really make their wedding reception their own. Narrowing down the drink list is not only cost effective but often times, if the drinks are themed, really make cocktail hour more enjoyable for your guests!

Spring

Spring is a refreshing season which features cool, crisp weather, budding flowers and bright, beautiful colors. Spring may just be the most refreshing of the four seasons.

The perfect spring time cocktail? Mojitos! These are the number one choice for springtime cocktails. They are refreshing, light and pretty to look at. Mojitos are also versatile and can be modified with shots of juice to change the color as well.  Garnigh with a slice of lemon and some minty leaves to really create a beautiful masterpiece!

Summer

Even adults love the summertime. Added sunshine, warm weather and outdoor barbeques. This is the time when many brides and grooms opt for beach or park weddings.

If you’re planning an outdoor summer bash, you better make some tasty cocktails to quench the thirst of your guests!

Transform cocktail hour into a fruity affair with fun and colorful cocktails inspired by the season of heat! Cool off guests with Frozen Daiquiris! Offer the classic strawberry or lime, or jazz it up with more exotic flavors like mango, peach or pineapple!

Gone are the days when brides opt for a white wedding gown. More and more brides are adding a splash of color to their dresses to express their unique personalities and to keep the wedding look modern.

Color can be added to a wedding dress through various methods:  with embroidery, a band at the top of the neckline or bottom of the hem, within an open train, or a sash around the waist. Modern brides are incorporating their favorite colors be it purple, green, or black or just adding color to match with their bridal party. You may opt for a wedding gown that isn’t white at all. It may be shocking to your guests, but it will also be memorable.

Perhaps you have a vintage gown that has been in your family for years. If the dress has some stains, but the fabric is in decent condition,  speak with a professional and find out if the dress will withstand being dyed a slightly darker color. It is a great way to preserve a piece of your family history as well as save your budget from an expensive new gown.

You don’t have pick a bold, vibrant down. Some brides opt for a colored dress for practical reasons. It could be that pure white doesn’t flatter your skin tone or it won’t go well with the color scheme that you have selected.
